SCOTT OPENS UP 20 POINT LEAD AT DONINGTON PARK
Coming into the weekend I felt really strong with being joint leader in the championship with Cameron Horsman. Friday I focused on setting consistent laps on my own and I ended up p3 overall.
Saturday morning we decided to to take a risk and change the gearing, unfortunately at the beginning of the session I was already having troubles with it and had to come in and change it back which resulted in a loss of 8minutes on track ultimately leaving me to start on the 4th row in 10th for both races. Race 1 I knew I had to get to the front as quickly as possible and did my best to do so.
By lap7 I was in the top 5 and in the battle for the lead. I sat at the back of the group just waiting for the right time. As soon as I saw the front 3 begin to break away I knew I had to try get to the front I got into 4th and closed the leaders meaning on the last lap I had a chance to overtake into the last corner. Ending the race 2nd. Race 2 was a totally different story with rain stopping and starting leaving us on wets on a dry track. I got a good start and was 3rd in the 2nd lap chasing fenton and Cameron.
By the half way point the 3 of us had pulled a gap but by doing so had destroyed our tyres. It started raining again with 4laps to go and we didn’t have the tyres to keep pushing so the group tightened. Once again I put myself in an ok place to make a move on the last corner which enabled me to get the 2nd race win. Unfortunately there was a incident behind leaving me now 20points in the championship lead going into round 3.
I would like to thank the whole team at DORNA who enable the British talent cup to run but also my personal sponsors, Premium Motorhomes who provide me with their excellent Euramobil Motorhome for the BTC and Motostar Championship. Thank you.
