Ogden just misses out on podium finish

14-year-old Scott Ogden battled the bruising from a high-side in race one to finish less than half a second from the podium in race two. The young motorcycle racer from Belton now lies fourth in the championship standings in his first full year of British Moto3 racing. Free Practice Ogden used the free practice sessions to get used to the narrow Cadwell Park circuit and the tricky Mountain section of the course that often sees riders airborne. In the second of the 30-minute sessions, Ogden clocked the fifth fastest time with a 1:38.335. Motostar Cadwell Park 2017

Sunday at Cadwell Park started with P6 in morning warm up after some setting changes to the rear shock. Scott started from dead last on the grid having been run off the track on Saturday and not setting a lap time. He got a decent start and spent a few laps breaking clear of the riders around him and then set about closing the battle for fifth place. Unfortunately, he ran out of time and had to settle for 7th and a fifth fastest lap time of 1:37.1. He now heads off to Silverstone for the British Talent Cup selection on Tues/Weds. The next BSB round is also at Silverstone in the 3 weeks time. Many thanks to our friends and supporters who made the trip to Cadwell, to All the Team at Microlise Cresswell Racing and to Scott's sponsors. Congratulations to Charlie Corner of Malton Laser who took his first Pro Am victory on Saturday afternoon from 7th on the grid....
