British Talent Cup Finale, Silverstone MotoGP

The finale of the BTC promised to be an epic battle between Scott and Cam Horsman, with Scott holding the advantage after a solid Brno meeting. With temperatures just as hot, Friday saw FP1, 2 and Qualifying all take place on the one day. Scott took 4th in Qualifying and had a great race one, taking the lead before a mechanical issue lost him time and he ended up 7th and tied on points with Horsman into the final race on Sunday. After swapping to the spare bike during the sighting laps, Scott got a good start and held a watching brief until three laps from the end when he picked up the pace. The final lap saw 6 riders swapping position before Scott moved into second on the run to the wellington straight. Jack Nixon dived up the inside but Scott held onto 2nd to win the championship by 0.13 s and 4 points. A great end to a...

Cadwell Motostar on Mountain

With the finale of the British Talent Cup looming, Cadwell was a welcome distraction and a good warm up for Silverstone. Friday was wet and Scott played it safe in FP1, finishing 4th. FP2 was cancelled which led to an extended 45 min Qualifying on Sat morning. Scott used the first 10 mins as FP2 and pitted for new tyres before tackling a drying track to take 2nd, 0.1s behind Cam Horsman. Race 1 saw Scott get a good start from a split grid and he made good progress through the slower open riders to win by 6 secs. His fastest lap of 1.37.287 put him on pole for the second race on Sunday. After a good start, he settled into a rhythm and had a great battle with Cam Horsman, eventually winning by 0.3s to retake the championship lead by 2 points from Cam and Franco Bourne. ...

Wet and Dry Finish at Brno GP

Wet and Dry Finish at Brno GP

The British Talent Cup arrived in the Brno paddock with temperatures well above 30 degrees, and the championship battle getting hotter. Fenton Seabright still had a numerical possibility of winning the Cup, but in reality, it was between Scott and Cam Horsman. Only Brian Hart had raced the circuit previously and it showed as he led the field in the early sessions. Scott moved up from 7th in FP1 to 4th in qualifying. The heavens opened before race 1 and Scott got off to a good start, holding second to Seabright but eventually finished 4th, his first result off the podium this year. Horsman had a bad race by his standards and finished outside of the points. Race 2 took place on the Sunday and Scott and Cameron were held up by Irwin before eventually breaking away to catch the leaders, Seabright and B Hart. They started the last lap, line abreast and Scott took the lead into turn one....

Back Row to the Podium at Snetterton BTC

Back Row to the Podium at Snetterton BTC

We have just returned from round 4 of the British Talent Cup Championship, held at the Snetterton 300 circuit in very changeable weather conditions, pretty typical of an English summer weekend. Free practice took place on Friday, following the British Touring Car(BTCC) test and as such the track was laden with rubber and lacked grip. Scott played it safe to finish 6th and worked of stiffening the front forks to gain stability on the brakes. In the afternoon FP2 session, all riders went out on wets on a virtually dry track, which is BTC policy. Scott again stayed safe, gradually building up his speed and went P2 on the penultimate lap. His last lap was a flyer until a rider looking for a slipstream dived in front of him and Scotts lap was ruined. He ended up P2. It rained overnight and the track was wet at the start of Qualifying but was drying quickly. Again Scott went...

Donington Talent Cup World Superbikes

Donington Talent Cup World Superbikes

The team have just returned from Donington World Superbikes where Scott competed in round 3 of the British Talent Cup. After the ups and downs of Knockhill BSB, Scott was ready to make amends. Friday was busy as the programme requires that all of the practicing and qualifying is done on that day. There is little scope for recovery, both physically and for bike repairs in the event of a crash. Scott took the day in his stride, having to go out on the spare bike after his developed an oil leak at the start of FP 1. He was second in that session despite not practicing the week before as some of the older competitors had (you have to be 16 and older to ride on track days with a race Licence). The FP2 and QP sessions took place in the evening and were separated by a one hour break. We stayed down pit lane and fitted new tyres...

Knocks at Knockhill

A tougher weekend at Knockhill for Scott and our Premium Motorhomes entered team. FP1 on Friday morning was dry as Scott headed out to start his 30 minute session. An early crash at the fast turn 7 left him stuck at the other side of the circuit but with some help from Mrs Claridge, he got the bike back to pit lane but the damage to it and his leathers was too much to continue. After a major rebuild (thanks PFR for the excellent bars and brake protector) Scott was out again in FP2, setting the fastest standard lap and putting himself in a good place for Qualifying on Saturday morning where he was out at the front of the pack and quickly settled into a consistent rhythm, going faster than his lap record from last year. With 10 mins to go, he got caught up with an open bike at turn 1 and went down at high speed...

First Double Win at Brands Hatch

A successful weekend at Brands Hatch. Friday was dry and Free Practice one and two progressed well. Scott made numerous gearing and suspension changes and concentrated on race set up. Qualifying was early on a Saturday morning, again it was dry, and Scott settled into a rhythm and built up to speed throughout the session. He set pole position and was on the fourth row of the grid, with a buffer of open class riders behind him. He made a great start in Race one and his strategy worked,  extending a lead to 13 seconds by the chequered flag. It rained on Sunday morning but with a dry race forecast, Scott elected to miss the morning warm up. It started to dry about 45min before his race and was generally ok with some damp patches under the trees by the time Scott headed out on the warm up lap. The race start was a carbon copy of race one. By...

Scott Takes Joint lead in Oulton Opener.

Scott Takes Joint lead in Oulton Opener.

Scott continued his battle with Cameron Horseman at Oulton Park but this time on his Premium Motorhomes entered Motostar Standard bike. Just as last season, the slower open class bikes played a role in both races, thwarting Scotts attempts to break away from Cameron and ended the meeting with a win and a second place and shares the championship lead with him. ...

Scott Opens Up 20 Point Lead At Donington Park

Scott Opens Up 20 Point Lead At Donington Park

Coming into the weekend I felt really strong with being joint leader in the championship with Cameron Horsman. Friday I focused on setting consistent laps on my own and I ended up p3 overall. Saturday morning we decided to to take a risk and change the gearing, unfortunately at the beginning of the session I was already having troubles with it and had to come in and change it back which resulted in a loss of 8minutes on track ultimately leaving me to start on the 4th row in 10th for both races. Race 1 I knew I had to get to the front as quickly as possible and did my best to do so. By lap7 I was in the top 5 and in the battle for the lead. I sat at the back of the group just waiting for the right time. As soon as I saw the front 3 begin to break away I knew I had...
