The finale of the BTC promised to be an epic battle between Scott and Cam Horsman, with Scott holding the advantage after a solid Brno meeting. With temperatures just as hot, Friday saw FP1, 2 and Qualifying all take place on the one day. Scott took 4th in Qualifying and had a great race one, taking the lead before a mechanical issue lost him time and he ended up 7th and tied on points with Horsman into the final race on Sunday. After swapping to the spare bike during the sighting laps, Scott got a good start and held a watching brief until three laps from the end when he picked up the pace. The final lap saw 6 riders swapping position before Scott moved into second on the run to the wellington straight. Jack Nixon dived up the inside but Scott held onto 2nd to win the championship by 0.13 s and 4 points. A great end to a superb 12 races and the final year in its current form.
